What is a quartz floor?

Quartz floors have colored quartz granules built into the coating, which gives a fine, speckled surface.

The fine grain adds texture you can feel underfoot, so the floor has more grip than a smooth coating while keeping a clean, even look from a distance.

Why people choose quartz.

  1. Fine grain

Small granules give an even speckle rather than the bolder chips of a flake floor.

  2. Extra grip

The texture you feel underfoot is the reason people choose it.

  3. Even from a distance

Up close it is speckled; across a room it reads as one calm tone.

Quartz or Flake?

Both are speckled. Quartz has a finer grain and more grip underfoot; flake has larger chips and a bolder texture.

Good to know.

  • The texture that gives grip also takes a little more effort to clean than a smooth floor. We talk through that trade-off at the site visit.
